.falls.lake.nature.trail

sorry if the format is changing - this page is a test activity for CSS. i'm learning yet again. major design revisions should be easier now if i have a few templates and can just overlay them. *poof*. on to the exciting stuff...

i never could find a good set of maps, so I set out to create my very own... I have simply hiked the trails and tracked where I went with a GPS. I have a nice overview, and then each section of trail is detailed for distance, vertical profile (such that it is) - and stats on ascent and descent distances. Also each section shows the relative shape of the trail with some small contour lines.

i am sure there are better maps in books out there - but guess what? i hiked these. Several times with the GPS - so they are fairly accurate. The BEST thing is.... they are FREE. that's right. free!

the main 12 sections of the trail are explained - as they are opening newer sections between highway 50 and the eno, I am hiking them as I have time.

.the.maps

first, the map in a nifty PDF format... you should get the latest acrobat reader if you don't already have it

now, for some really fun stuff! Here is the same map, in a cool format that you can view either on google maps, OR on google earth! check it out. other maps are here too - eventually i will clean all of this stuff up, but for now, it's just here.
